My Chemical Romance have secured their first UK number one album, with The Black Parade reaching the top two decades after its original release. The breakthrough follows the arrival of the record’s expanded 20th-anniversary edition on 23 October, turning an anniversary celebration into a new chart milestone.
The Official Charts Company confirms that the album originally peaked at number two in November 2006. This is therefore the first time the record, and the band, have led the main UK albums chart.
On the chart dated 30 October–5 November 2026, The Black Parade rises from number 162 to number one, with Fontaines D.C.’s Dopamine Chamber at number two. The chart combines physical sales, downloads and eligible streaming activity.

What is on the anniversary edition?
Released through Reprise Records, the collection places the original album alongside six bonus tracks. The label’s release announcement identifies three B-sides and three recordings from the band’s 2007 performance at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, New Jersey. Those live recordings had not previously appeared on vinyl, CD or streaming services.
The bonus selection includes “Heaven Help Us”, “Kill All Your Friends” and “My Way Home Is Through You”, plus live versions of “Dead!”, “The Sharpest Lives” and “Someone Out There Loves You”. The latter has long been known to fans as “Stay”, as noted in the official store’s edition details.

A familiar world, revisited
In their anniversary message, the band describe bringing together everything they completed during the original sessions. They also commissioned original cover artist James Jean to return to The Black Parade and create three new artworks based on characters associated with that era.
The collection revisits the band’s third studio album, whose story follows the Patient as he reflects on life and faces the afterlife. Its tracklist retains “Welcome to the Black Parade”, “I Don’t Love You”, “Teenagers” and “Famous Last Words” alongside the rest of the original sequence.
The chart result gives that return a fresh distinction: a record which stopped one place short in 2006 has now become My Chemical Romance’s first UK number one album.
