Sam Smith released their fifth studio album, Hazel Eyes, on August 21 through Capitol Records. The twelve-track record follows Gloria and places Smith alongside co-producers Simon Aldred and David Odlum.
Universal Music’s release announcement identifies a more concentrated collaboration than on earlier projects, with Smith also taking a co-producer role. Contributors include Feist, Shahzad Ismaily, string arranger Rob Moose and the TwoCity Chorus. Feist appears on Moondance, while the chorus is featured on Oh Mother.
Constant Companion leads the release
The album arrived with Constant Companion as its new single. Its video was filmed in Spain, directed by Albert Moya and choreographed by (LA)HORDE. It supplies a visual introduction to a record whose credits span songwriting, instrumental work and a vocal collective.
The accompanying To Be Free residency schedule included Mexico and September dates in Manchester and London. Those were the dates announced around the album’s release; the original schedule should not be read as a list of upcoming October shows.
