Designalls is an independent English-language music journal for curious listeners. We explore performances, songwriting, musical arrangements and the cultural settings that give songs another life.
A journal with two ways in
Our News section follows confirmed announcements with links to the primary sources. Our Reviews & Features collection brings together 750 performance stories, covers, collaborations and listening ideas across genres and generations.
A familiar song can be the start of a new question. Who wrote it? What changes in an arrangement? What role does a choir, band or partner play? We aim to give those questions room alongside the recordings themselves.
Clear context and proper credit
A report of an announcement is distinct from an assessment of a recording. A surviving video is distinct from a claim of attending the original event. Our editorial policy explains how we handle those differences and how to suggest a correction.
