Lifein3D’s Viral Harmony: A Haunting ‘The Sound of Silence’ Cover
Hailing from a family of talented vocalists, the trio known as Lifein3D comprises siblings Daylon, Daura, and Devon. Their journey began not on a professional stage but in the simple setting of their kitchen, where harmonizing over household chores inspired them to explore music together seriously.
Over time, their casual family pastime developed into a refined craft that emphasizes vocal harmony across bass, tenor, and soprano registers. This unique vocal blend sets them apart from many contemporary groups, enabling them to reimagine familiar songs with fresh nuance and emotional resonance.
They chose “The Sound of Silence,” originally by Simon and Garfunkel and first released in 1964, as the centerpiece of their viral breakout. This choice aligns well with their style—known for introspective lyrics and haunting melodies, the song allows their harmonies to shine without overwhelming production.
The video performance, available on YouTube under the channel Life in 3D, highlights their intricate layering of vocals. Each sibling brings his or her vocal strength: Daylon with a resonant bass, Daura’s rich tenor, and Devon’s clear soprano. The interplay of these voices crafts an immersive listening experience that captures the mood of the original while adding new emotional dimensions.
Their rendition has resonated broadly with viewers and listeners worldwide, accumulating over one million views. It is widely praised for its versatility and sibling chemistry, turning a kitchen harmony experiment into a viral music phenomenon.
