Deep Purple have postponed two concerts in Germany after a medical emergency involving singer Ian Gillan. The affected shows were due to take place at Leipzig’s QI Arena on 31 October and Hamburg’s Sporthalle on 1 November.

In a statement issued on 31 October, the band confirmed that Gillan was in hospital and said their team was working to find replacement dates for both performances. The announcement did not give further details about his condition.

Tickets will remain valid

The band acknowledged the short notice and the disappointment for fans in both cities. They confirmed that tickets already purchased will be accepted at the rearranged concerts; replacement dates had not been announced in the statement.

  • 31 October 2026: QI Arena, Leipzig — postponed.
  • 1 November 2026: Sporthalle, Hamburg — postponed.

Both dates are also marked as postponed on Deep Purple’s official tour itinerary. Fans holding tickets for either show should keep them and follow the band’s updates for the new arrangements.

The remaining European itinerary

At the time of publication, the official schedule still lists Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle on 3 November as the next stop, followed by Berlin on 4 November, Frankfurt on 6 November and Nuremberg on 7 November. The postponement announcement covers Leipzig and Hamburg and gives no separate return-to-stage date.

The itinerary continues through the Netherlands and France before a UK run beginning in Newcastle on 18 November. Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester follow, with London performances listed at the Eventim Apollo on 24 November and the Royal Albert Hall on 25 November.

Touring behind SPLAT!

The concerts form part of the touring cycle for SPLAT!, Deep Purple’s 24th studio album. Released on 3 July through earMUSIC and recorded with producer Bob Ezrin, the record includes ‘Arrogant Boy’, ‘Diablo’ and ‘Guilt Trippin’’. It follows 2024’s =1.
