Crownshift have announced their second studio album, The Shadows We Buried, for 29 January 2027 through Nuclear Blast. The Finnish quartet have introduced it with “In the Dead of Night” and an official video released jointly by Nuclear Blast Records and Crownshift Official on 29 October.

A nine-track second album
The new record follows the band’s self-titled debut and a touring period that included European shows with Dirkschneider. The announcement also arrives after a lineup change: bassist Kevin Apostol replaced Jukka Koskinen earlier this year.
The Nuclear Blast album listing sets out nine tracks. “The Portal” opens the record, followed by “I Will Give You War”, “All Hail the One” and the title track. “In the Dead of Night” sits fifth, ahead of “Gone Before Tomorrow”, “Behold the Crown”, “Fuel My Curse” and closer “Until the Silence Falls”.

The single’s creative team
The official video credits Daniel Freyberg with the music and Freyberg and singer Tommy Tuovinen with the lyrics. Freyberg also recorded, produced and engineered the track at D-Vice Studios, with additional recording contributions from Rami Nykänen and drummer Heikki Saari. Nykänen handled the mix and mastering.
Joel Korhonen of Noise Media directed the video and is also credited with cinematography and post-production. Those details make the new clip a useful first introduction to the album campaign: a finished song and visual setting, backed by the band’s own published production credits.
The video description links directly to the single and album pre-orders. For listeners who know the members through their other projects, this release is the next opportunity to follow Crownshift as a group in its own right, with a second album now firmly on the calendar.
