Nelly Furtado released a twentieth-anniversary edition of Loose on September 4, adding an expanded digital presentation and limited vinyl editions to the album’s catalog.
The original record arrived in June 2006. Its collaboration with Timbaland produced a musical setting that crossed pop, R&B and dance styles, with Promiscuous, Maneater and Say It Right among its best-known songs.
The anniversary extends the archive
The label’s announcement identifies rare session recordings, previously unreleased material and new interpretations among the digital edition’s additions. The physical campaign includes a limited two-LP red-and-white vinyl configuration.
Availability statements in a release-day announcement are a snapshot of that campaign. Readers considering a purchase should check the current official listing rather than assume that a limited configuration remains available.
Original album and expanded edition have different boundaries
An anniversary title can bring several kinds of recording together. The album’s original sequence, a session recording and a later interpretation each have their own place in that history.
The practical approach is to establish which edition is being played before comparing track lists. That keeps an additional recording from being mistaken for a song that appeared on the album in 2006.
For listeners returning through a familiar single, the reissue supplies a route back to the longer project and its surrounding archive. The new edition adds context without changing when the original album was made.
Anniversary release: September 4, 2026.
