You little baby is growing. That means your child’s needs are changing and you have to help make the transition a happy one. Your child is now more curious and refuses to go to bed not wanting to miss out on anything! To make the child go willingly to bed, make the bed inviting enough. There are plenty of ways to make bedtime a pleasurable activity.
Comfortable mattress
Get a mattress that is soft and comfortable and cozy. Get micro fiber filled mattresses as they are washable and do not hold water. More importantly it is breathable. Along with the mattress, get a mattress pad or protector. At least till your child is full potty trained. The mattress pads are water proof and will prevent the mattress from getting soaked.
Comforter
Children always need something cozy and comfortable to cover them while sleeping. Comforters are available in various fabrics the best of them being micro fleece or combed cotton. These are light weight fabrics and have a very high comfort quotient. They are easily washable and do not lose their fluffiness on repeated washing.
Pillows
Pillows are crucial for a good night’s sleep. So get a comfortable pillow that is soft yet firm enough to provide adequate support for the neck. The toddler pillows are available in various materials like feathers, cotton or polyester. The best option would be to get the polyester or the cotton pillow. Ensure that the pillow case fits securely.
Colors and prints
Don’t go by the popular belief of “pink for girls and blue for boys”. Let your child develop her or his own likes. Pick colors and prints that appeal to your child. If your daughter likes adventurous characters, so be it. Just get those prints and make her happy. She’ll sleep well feeling reassured that you will give her the freedom to grow her own wings.
