Chuck Norris’ Children Share Emotional Tributes Following Action Star’s Sudden Passing at 86
The family of iconic martial artist and Hollywood star Chuck Norris has broken their silence following confirmation of the action legend’s unexpected death on March 20.
Renowned across the globe for his starring roles in action movies and the beloved television series Walker, Texas Ranger, Norris left behind more than just a remarkable career — he also left a large, loving family who now recall him as a deeply devoted father.
After the announcement of his death at the age of 86, several of Norris’ children came forward with heartfelt tributes.

Norris’ 24-year-old daughter Danilee, whom he had with his wife Gena O’Kelley, was one of the first to share her thoughts publicly.
Having grown up with a close bond to her father, Danilee frequently celebrated their relationship on social media. In tribute to Norris, she posted a heartfelt collection of personal photographs and memories on Instagram.

“I don’t believe grief even begins to capture what my family and I are feeling right now… the loss of a parent is something no one can ever truly be ready for,” she expressed.
Danilee shared that Norris had been her guardian from the very beginning of her life, reflecting on the immense love he showed each of his children throughout the years.

“From the moment I came into this world, my dad was my protector… he loved with incredible depth and treated every person in his life with genuine tenderness.”
She also highlighted how the action icon’s fierce public persona stood in contrast to the warmth he showed at home.
“Behind his warrior exterior was a heart overflowing with love,” she shared, expressing her desire to carry forward the same compassion he extended to others.
“Words cannot express how grateful I am that he was my father… I promise to always strive to make you proud.”

Danilee ended her tribute by referring to herself as his “little girl” and citing the Bible passage Matthew 5:4.
Dakota has closely walked in his father’s martial arts footsteps and holds a fifth-degree black belt. He regularly collaborated with Norris on training sessions and fight choreography.
In his own Instagram tribute, Dakota called his father the single greatest role model he ever had.
“Dad, finding the right words for this feels nearly impossible, but I’ll give it everything I have,” he shared. “You were the man I admired my entire life.”
He also honored the principles his father embodied, including discipline, faith, and a spirit of generosity.
“Your generosity, compassion, bravery, integrity, strength, discipline, and unwavering faith in God were just some of the many qualities I always looked up to in you.”
Dakota went on to say that Norris ensured his children never went a day without feeling loved.
“I truly believe there wasn’t a single day that passed where you didn’t remind us how much you cared.”

He wrapped up his tribute with a vow to lead a life worthy of his father’s example.
“Being your son fills me with pride… I hope to live in a way that honors everything you stood for. I love you, Dad. You’ll be missed forever.”
Norris was a father to five children in total.
His oldest son, Mike, now 63, pursued a career in entertainment just like his father, appearing in multiple episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger and going on to direct films including AmeriGeddon and Birdie & Bogey.
His second son, Eric Norris, carved out a career in both the film industry and professional motorsports. Eric served as a Hollywood stuntman and stunt coordinator before becoming a NASCAR Winston West Series champion in 2002.

Norris was also father to a daughter, Dina Norris DiCiolli, whom he learned about later in life after she reached out to him as an adult. The two went on to develop a close and meaningful relationship.
In addition to his children, Norris is survived by his wife Gena O’Kelley, whom he wed in 1998, along with 13 grandchildren.
The Norris family confirmed his passing through a statement released on social media.
“Our family shares with heavy hearts the sudden loss of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning,” the statement read.
“We ask that the circumstances remain private, but want everyone to know he was surrounded by family and at peace.”

The family also spoke about the far-reaching influence the martial artist and actor had on people around the world.
“The world knew him as a martial artist, actor, and an icon of strength. To us, he was a dedicated husband, a loving father and grandfather… the very heart of our family.”
They emphasized that his legacy reached well beyond his on-screen achievements.
“Through his dedication, discipline, and compassion, he motivated millions across the globe and made a lasting difference in countless lives.”
Norris first gained widespread fame after starring opposite Bruce Lee in the 1972 classic Way of the Dragon, before becoming one of the most recognizable action stars of the 1980s and leading the hit series Walker, Texas Ranger, which aired for close to a decade.
