Decoding bathroom lighting

Bathrooms are often the places given little attention in terms of lighting. Very few think of investing in lighting their bathrooms yet it is one of the rooms in the home that needs sufficient lighting. Your bathroom requires different types of lighting to make it appealing and functional.

Task Lighting

Task lighting serves to illuminate your head and face, allowing you to groom yourself in the best way you can. It is simply out of place to install recessed ceiling lighting fixtures above your bathroom mirror as some people do because of shadows, which makes grooming a challenge. You need to consider installing vertical bathroom lighting fixtures on either side of your bathroom mirror for evenly distributed light across your head and face.

Ambient Lighting

Ambient lighting serves as alternative to natural lighting, which may not be sufficient. The best way to obtain ambient lighting is to have either pendant or chandelier lighting fixtures installed.

Accent Lighting

Accent lighting in your bathroom serve to highlight any decorative items you may have in the bathroom. You need to consider having a recessed shower lighting fixture that can be angled installed.

Bathroom lighting is very important if you need to have a bathroom that is appealing, a bathroom where you can remain in for some time as you clean and/or groom yourself. Although every section in the bathroom needs to be sufficiently lit, it pays to have the right lighting fixtures installed at the right places at the right height.
