“We’re Preparing for the Worst…” — Savannah Guthrie Announces $1M Reward as Search for Mom Reaches Day 24
24/02/2026
A visibly emotional Savannah Guthrie shared that she and her family are coming to terms with the devastating possibility that her mother, Nancy Guthrie, may no longer be alive, as the search for the missing 84-year-old stretches into its 24th day.
“Hi there. I wanted to come on and say that today marks day 24 since our mom was taken from her bed in the middle of the night. Every hour, every minute, every second, and every long night since then has been pure agony — worrying about her, fearing for her, aching for her, and above all, just missing her,” the “Today” show anchor said in a heartfelt Instagram video shared Tuesday.
“We know so many of you have been praying for her — people of every faith, and even those without faith. We feel those prayers deeply,” she continued.

“Please keep praying without stopping. We still believe. We still believe in a miracle. We still believe she can come home. … We are doing everything we can to keep hope alive,” she said.
Savannah, 54, then addressed the painful reality that her mother may no longer be living.
“We also understand that she may be gone. She may already be lost. She may have gone home to the Lord she loved so much, reunited in Heaven with her mom, her dad, her beloved brother Pierce, and our daddy,” she said through tears.
“If that is what has happened, we will accept it — but we need to know where she is. We need to bring her home,” Savannah added.

The journalist also announced that her family is now offering a reward of up to $1 million for information that leads to Nancy’s recovery.
“You can call the 1-800 tip line, and you can remain anonymous if you choose. Someone out there knows something that could bring her back to us. Someone knows, and we are begging you to come forward now,” she pleaded.
The emotional video, which also aired during Tuesday’s episode of the “Today” show, prompted heartfelt reactions from Savannah’s colleagues.
Craig Melvin said, “Our dear friend and colleague Savannah Guthrie shared that video on social media, saying the family still believes in a miracle and is now offering a million-dollar reward for any information that leads to Nancy Guthrie’s return.”
Hoda Kotb, who has been filling in for Savannah, added, “Living with this kind of uncertainty is unbearable, and it’s a plea to anyone who may know something — because somebody does.”

Nancy was last seen on Jan. 31 after her daughter Annie and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni dropped her off at her Tucson, Arizona, home following a family dinner.
The next morning, authorities were alerted when Nancy failed to show up for church services.
As part of the investigation, officials discovered a trail of blood on Nancy’s front porch.
Earlier this month, the FBI released disturbing home security footage showing an armed, masked individual outside Nancy’s home on the night she vanished.

In the images and video, the suspect can be seen standing on Nancy’s porch wearing gloves while interfering with her doorbell camera.
Several individuals have been detained during the course of the investigation but were later released after being ruled out as suspects.
Although investigators recovered gloves believed to resemble those worn by the suspect, DNA testing did not match any profiles in the FBI’s database.

All of Nancy’s children and their spouses have officially been cleared of any involvement in her disappearance.
Amid the ongoing ordeal, reports suggest Savannah may never return to her role on the “Today” show.
However, Page Six was told that no final decision has been made regarding her future at the network, as her sole focus remains on finding her mother.
