Lainey Wilson Brings Future U.S. Army Soldier Onstage, Shares Emotional Thank You
Lainey Wilson Honors Fan About to Join the U.S. Army
Country music star Lainey Wilson took a touching pause during her set to welcome a young woman preparing to join the U.S. Army onto the stage.
While headlining the Barefoot Country Music Fest, Lainey noticed a unique sign held by a fan in the crowd and immediately responded.
“I leave for the U.S. Army next month,” the sign read, held by a woman named Ciarra.
Initially, Lainey attempted to take a picture with Ciarra while she stood near the stage, but with help from security, Ciarra was lifted up and joined Lainey in front of thousands of fans.
Standing arm in arm, Lainey thanked Ciarra for her courage and commitment, saying it’s because of people like her that she’s able to pursue her passion for music and perform freely.

“This is Ciarra. Y’all give it up for Ciarra. So you are leaving next month for the Army? That’s right, y’all. Thank you so much for your service. Because of people like you, I get to do what I do, and that just means the world to me,” Lainey said.

Lainey Wilson Recognizes the True Cost of Freedom
Just a month before, Lainey had spoken with the Easy Day Foundation—an organization that supports veterans transitioning back to civilian life—on the red carpet at the American Music Awards.
There, she expressed her deep appreciation for those in uniform, recognizing the role their sacrifices play in enabling her to live out her dreams onstage.
“I just want to say thank you so much to our veterans for everything that you do so I get to do things like this, I get to live my dreams out and thank you, thank you for your sacrifice,” the singer said.
Lainey Wilson to Launch U.S. Leg of World Tour
Beginning in Phoenix, Arizona this August, Lainey Wilson’s “Whirlwind” tour will include 30 cities before wrapping up in Orlando, Florida later in the year.
She revealed the North American dates earlier this year, following the European leg. Tour openers—Ernest, Muscadine Bloodline, Kaitlin Butts, Mattox Batson, Drake Milligan, and Lauren Watkins—helped announce the tour in a fun, mock news segment.
